New Year Resolutions For Healthy Smile

2023 has begun with new hopes, new aspirations and new opportunities. We all tend to decide on new year resolutions which we vow to keep up with. On this special occasion of the first day of the new year let’s together make some new dental resolutions to keep the bright shining healthy smile forever.

Resolution No. 1

BRUSHING AND FLOSSING TWICE DAILY

Nothing can replace brushing twice daily with toothpaste and toothbrush. The food remnants present on teeth surfaces get easily washed off during the day due to rinsing and drinking water. But the food that is stuck at night remains as it is for the complete duration of sleep. This causes cavities. Include flossing as an integral part of your dental routine.

Resolution No. 2

REPLACING TOOTHBRUSH EVERY 3 MONTHS

Toothbrush is as efficient as its bristles. Bristles tend to get damaged in approximately 3 months. If they are getting frayed before 3 months, that can be an indication of excessive force being applied during brushing. Vow to change your toothbrush every 3 months for efficient brushing.

Resolution No. 3

PROPER BRUSHING METHOD

Not just brushing but brushing teeth with proper technique is important. Cleaning all surfaces of all teeth will give you long term positive results. The proper technique can be learnt from your dentist with live demonstration.

Resolution No. 4

WATCH DIET

Sweets, sticky food not only harm weight watchers but also your dental health. Food like raw vegetables, salads provide roughage which in turn cleans the teeth surfaces. Drink water to wash out food substances.

Resolution No. 5

DENTAL VISITS

6 monthly regular dental visits can help in catching dental issues at the start. A small cavity can be caught in the routine dental check up and can be treated. This prevents future dental pain and extensive dental treatment.

Let’s fulfill all new year resolutions and increase smile quotient in 2023
